ROOTS IN A CLINIC
WE STARTED AT A PLANT-BASED PRACTICE
If poor eating and lifestyle choices are making people sick, why don’t we use better eating and lifestyle choices to make them feel better? Why are we writing so many prescriptions?
These questions sparked the start of Dr. Todd Pesek’s clinical practice ten years ago in Cleveland, OH. He applied his medical school education with his plant-based upbringing to teach his patients how to make better eating choices.
The transition wasn’t always easy for patients, but when they switched to more plants and whole foods, they started feeling better.
Dr. Pesek closely monitored their progress. He studied their blood work. He found a pattern emerge. As his patients moved to a plant-based diet, the majority of them were still low in a few key vitamins and minerals. Dr. Pesek decided to see if whole-food supplements would help.
They did. And Nutritional Roots sprouted up.
